Celebrate Iftar in Style, at the InterContinental Ramadan Tent


Located at the nearby InterContinental Dubai Festival City, the InterContinental Ramadan Tent will delight your senses. The interior, which takes contemporary Arabic design to a new level, will be a feast for your eyes. Brazil World Cup Festa at Zaytoun, with 2 for 1 Brazilian BBQs each time the team play


Each time Brazil play in the World Cup 2010 from Sunday 20th June, Zaytoun restaurant at Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City will be the place to be. Not only will the restaurant be showing each match on sever large screens, Zaytoun’s famous Brazilian barbecue will be 2 for 1, making the feast just AED 285 for two people, inclusive of house beverages.

During the ‘Churrasco’ (barbecue in Portuguese), guests can enjoy watching the match, whilst being presented with nine types of grilled cuts of meat on traditional skewers from the team of Passadors (meat waiters). Also, hearty South American salads and choice hot Brazilian side dishes are available. Meats such as Asinha (chicken wings), Picanha (top serloin), Entrecote (rib eye) and Carneiro (lamb chops) are prepared to perfection on an imported ‘Churrasco’ grill by our Brazilian chef. Whilst eating as much as they can, guests will also enjoy sipping on free-flowing ‘Caipirinha’ or a selection of house beverages, all for the remarkable AED 285 for two people.

FIFA World Cup Matches at Belgian Beer Café Where ‘They Score, You Score!’


This summer, Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City will once again live sports, with the advent of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Matches will be screened throughout the hotel, from the Arabesque themed lobby lounge Mazar, to a projector screen in all-day dining restaurant Zaytoun. However the heart of the action will be found in the buzzing Belgian Beer Café, when ‘They Score, You Score’.



Those who can’t make the trip to South Africa will be able to enjoy the action on a big screen from the comfort of the Belgian Beer Café, and during the Last 16 Category matches may also take advantage of the ‘They Score, You Score’ drinks deal. Each time a goal is scored during one of these matches, a 10% reduction on selected beers, wines and spirits will be applied. This discount will increase by an additional 10% for every goal scored during the match until the final whistle is blown, adding extra excitement to the matches. For example, if a match gets to 2 -2, there’s going to be 40% off drinks until the end of the game, result!

Every Cloud has a Diamond Lining thanks to Spa InterContinental


The past weekend may have been a highly stressful one for the hundreds of travellers stranded in the UAE, yet Spa InterContinental have responded by offering a pair of helping hands. The spa has announced they are offering a 50% discount on all treatments to all those in possession of a cancelled flight ticket between 16th to the 19th April 2010.

Extended guests of the UAE may take advantage of such treatments as the ‘Hot Clay and Olive Body Wrap’, or the ‘Magnetic Mineral Body Scrub’, using the power of nature to their advantage. Alternatively, if guests are in real need of a pampering they can take advantage of top-of-the-range, luxury treatments such as the ‘Diamond Magnetic Scrub’ using actual diamonds to exfoliate the body, leaving the shimmer of diamond dust behind.

Authentic Italian Cooking Classes with Head Chef Marco


Have you ever wanted to learn how to make fresh pasta or that perfect pesto sauce?

Myself and the team here at the InterContinental Residence Suites Dubai Festival City would like to extend an invitation to take part in a fascinating culinary experience at the MezzaLuna restaurant. From Saturday 27th February, I will be starting a bi-monthly cookery classes and will continue every second Saturday thereafter.

  • Your day will start with breakfast in Mezza Luna at 10:00am followed by the presentation of your special chefs uniform.


  • I will then present the four course menu that you will be preparing for the day and will explain and demonstrate the various ingredients and cooking methods that you will be learning.


  • After preparing the menu under my guidance the dishes will then be served for tasting, matched with selected beverages.


Starting Saturday 13th March, and every second Saturday thereafter, the class will feature a different theme, allowing you to explore all aspects of Italian cuisine with me as your guide. This amazing experience is being offered for only AED 600 per person and spaces are limited. We have set up this blog as a convenient, online notice board of information for all the regular and special events, activities and happenings at InterContinental Residence Suites. With such a diverse property as the Residence Suites, home to restaurants, health and relaxation facilities, and with a prime location within Dubai Festival City, there is a lot to experience.
